Hi all and welcome,

In April 2005, we are embarking on a long journey into the semi unknown.  We are giving up the rat race and are going traveling.  We have sold our house and have sold almost all of our possessions in order to fund this trip.

The current master plan is to start off in South Africa where we have friends, travel north overland to Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique with a possible stop in Malawi. We will swing back around into South Africa and from there, fly to Buenos Aires.  We will travel through South America, taking in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela. From there we'll be flying across to Honduras and working our way overland through Belize, Guatemala and possibly El Salvador to Mexico.  We are then planning to fly to Vancouver, Canada and spend some time with our friends John and Darnell.  We will then be embarking on our Canadian/US tour which will take a while as it's a bloody big place.  We currently plan to travel across Canada and cross into the US in the New England area and then travel back across the US ending in San Francisco and a flight to New Zealand to visit more friends and spend a few months traveling around New Zealand and Australia.  In all we think this will take around 18 months and if we have any money left we are planning to head for Malaysia and then Vietnam and China.

This blog will track our progress  and as we have a page each we will be able to regale you with witty and probably some not so witty stories from the road.  We have sections with web links to sites and companies that we have found useful while planning this trip as well as a recipes section for foods we come across that we think are interesting or tasty.  Please check back regularly and we hope you enjoy this travel blog.

Best Regards,
